Unfortunately, I watched this one almost immediately after All Jacked Up And Full Of Worms. They were similar in that both deteriorated into a WTF world of surrealism. This film was at least a little more interesting, in that it could be perceived as a barely filtered tour through the mind of the main character (Sissy St. Clare).
It starts out as a 70s-style TV variety special and skewers that genre in fun ways. But then Sissy’s cheery persona begins to slip. At first in little ways (that make you wonder why they would not have edited or retaped pieces to protect her image). But as time goes on, her attempts to entertain devolve into attempts to express herself, maybe to be understood, maybe to get some emotional poison out of her system. The conceit of this being a broadcast TV show crumbles (we even lose the canned audience halfway through), but the format is held. The result is a stylized peek into Sissy’s true, internal character? Which does give the movie some interest.
