So, this one was interesting… I feel like the the idea wasn’t completely original (recalling trailers to movies I hadn’t actually seen, so I can’t quite judge). But many of the characters were interesting and the dialogue was fun. And went an odd direction by the end. Mixed feelings about this one.
P.S.-Of course it opens with a dead body, and includes gratuitous nudity (women showering) early on. As the producer explained in the Q&A, that was intentionally done to increase foreign distribution. Apparently European and Japanese buyers in the horror genre watch about the first five minutes and make their buying decision–if they see both of these up front, they assume there will be more later and that’s their prime criteria…
