This is the other secret screening I attended. The world premiere of Gore Verbinski’s latest film (which I was not even aware of), and of course he was present for it.
This is an excellent science fiction story. A man from the future on a mission (though being from the future does not give him all the answers). Pulling in other main characters with interesting backstories, which are all part of the overall cautionary tale. A really good script that is funny and also smart.
But the movie is also a wild ride. Original scenarios. And some unique, great looking visuals.
It took me 10 minutes at the beginning to recognize Sam Rockwell, under his beard and crazy outfit. He and Juno Temple both did marvelous jobs. And there were several other familiar faces that were fun to watch.
I highly recommend this one!
