| C | Fantastic Fest 2025 |

The trailer says it is showing scenes selected randomly from the movie. And those scenes looked intriguing. From the science fiction concept of dimension hopping to the handmade special effects (which were amusing and effective), I was looking forward to this film.

Here’s the problem. The movie itself is basically structured the same way as the trailer.

After a long, talky opening sequence that fills us in on the what and why of everything (and how snarky the main character can be), we spend the rest of the movie hopping around between dimensions and through time and encountering different variations of most of the characters. I think we followed the same iteration of the main character all the way through? But everyone and everything else was shifting.

The director (IMDB does not list a writer—a bad sign?) had one character say, “Narrative is tyranny.” When applied to conspiracy theories, perhaps; but in fiction, I’ll have to disagree. This chopped salad of a film was unappealing to me.
