This was a very affecting film…
I’m sure some of my reaction was that innate male fear of a crazy girlfriend. Not that the movie was saying women appear crazy to men—there was a supernatural element driving her extreme behavior.
But the real source of the emotion was the quality of the filmmaking. A really good script that truly “went there.” A lead actress who committed to the extreme character. And the direction and editing were quite good as well.
The ending also threw in some nice surprise zig-zags (in short order, not annoyingly drawn out like some movies). I would have been satisfied with any of the three potential endings, and certainly was with the final one.
