A fun martial arts action movie with an actual story (not just skipping from fight sequence to fight sequence).
The premise starts with an assassin from Hong Kong hired to do a job in Tokyo. (And part of the fun is the two main characters trying to talk to each other through a translation phone app.) The director (who is from Hong Kong) said in the Q&A he was trying to blend the two styles, but I am not sophisticated enough a viewer to distinguish between them.
There were definitely some fresh things I’d not seen in other movies. Some good humor. And the fight choreography was fun.
I felt like the ending struggled a littleāI thought it was ending two or three times before it actually did. But given what all had happened before, the final scene was satisfying.
