I mostly saw this film because a friend of mine is a huge Superman fan (and this starred Brandon Routh), so I wanted to report to him about it. But I’m really glad I caught it.
Yes, this was cheesy with plenty of plot conveniences to ratchet up the stakes. But the result is so much fun, it’s worth it. (Be aware that the director said the film is aimed towards young teens, but he hoped there was enough in it for adults to enjoy, too. I can vouch that it did.)
Watching Routh run around dealing with stuff (not always The Ick) was quite enjoyable. Especially the first 10 minutes when they really had some fun with him…
