Very good science fiction movie, coming at you from the Czech Republic. I only point out the source because the director said it’s hard to film sci-fi there (not much depth in the supporting services, like special effects, I think?). But this movie had high production quality so he figured out how to manage everything.
The crime the detective had to solve was pretty straightforward. But the journey and the little character explorations were intriguing. And I very much liked the style of this vision of the future.
I also liked the extrapolations of how this “restore point” technology (allowing people to be brought back to life with their brain restored from their most recent backup) would affect our daily lives. And they spent some time touching upon some of the moral dilemmas raised as well. They didn’t go into as much depth as Minority Report did, but enough to plant some thoughts to mull over later.
