I often skip the big-studio films playing at Austin Film Festival, since they will be released soon and I want to see the indie pictures that may never get any distribution. But every now and then I can’t resist seeing one with a large crowd in the Paramount Theater.
Although the studios are fallible, most of their films that screen at AFF are excellent quality and this was no exception. A stellar cast (Nicholas Hoult, Jude Law, Tye Sheridan) working from an excellent script based on true events about a white supremacist group gearing up to disrupt our society. (No, not from current times but from 1984.)
If that description piqued your interest at all, go catch it when it hits theaters in six weeks.
