There’s a group of folks (a troupe, perhaps) that call themselves Motern Media. Magic Spot was my first experience with them even though they have a slew of movies out there. Definitely very indie, and the kind of movie I enjoy finding at a festival.
The weakest area of the movie is the dialog. But it’s so bad (so un-movielike) it’s amusing, so this turns out not to be a detriment.
The acting is a little better than the dialog. Not great, but you can sense their enthusiasm. Again, not a detriment.
The scenario, the plot, and some of the characters were unique and interesting. Very creative.
The result was a charming movie that I really enjoyed and recommend, as long as you go in knowing what to expect.
Warning: This trailer is a teaser, telling you almost nothing about the movie itself…
