Amusing coming-of-age comedy about two teenage girls, best friends, grappling with what is expected of them as they mature.

They overthink yet underthink everything, deciding they must fall in love with someone before uni (yes, they’re British) to become more “worldly,” yet they choose (intentionally) to fall in love with the same person and court them together. Then they continually force the issue, as if love can be controlled through actions rather than arising naturally out of emotions. So no, things do not go entirely well.

The film’s description sounds like the two main characters will be carbon copies of each other, but delightfully the script does not let this be true. And of course, everyone around these two treats them differently, so more fun from that.

In summary, good script and direction and acting. Worth a watch.
