Good psychological drama about a trip for a middle school class to a remote portion of Sweden, where no teachers were allowed to go (seemed odd—is that common in Sweden?) but three fathers chaperoned. Lots of simmering tension, leading you to wonder where (and from whom) the next bad thing is going to come. And several good twists along the way.
One complaint: The festival description focused on the children’s behavior (“…it will have everyone questioning how anyone still has children…”), but the adults’ behavior was certainly not above reproach. So overall I’d say it’s about the darkness that can be found in people of all ages.
But the kids’ behavior did rattle my nerves a bit. I have a dog who does not always listen to me, which is bad enough. But considering having my own children who behave badly, especially when “hidden away” at school, and it might not matter how I raise them? Frightening (hence the festival description).
