Another movie I didn’t care for. Starting with the con game the brothers run (as seen in the trailer)–one performs Shakespeare in the street while the other picks the audience’s pockets. But this is at an outdoor mall, so wouldn’t a bunch of people further behind see this happenening? It turns out, two people do. But…one is a gangster their dad owes money to and the other is an old pal from juvie who is running his own con, so no one is telling on them. Apparently everyone in LA is really violent and/or involved in crime families somehow, even the Korean owner of the corner grocery. And when people are violent to you, you don’t hold that against them when you run into them later. Finally, the main character was beaten, stabbed, and shot so many times I can’t believe he’s still alive at the end. I was very disappointed in this film…
