Good movie. Maybe a little flawed from the script perspective, but drew me in emotionally. (I could also recognize things that four years ago I would have thought, “That would never happen,” but after Trump’s presidency I totally now believe they could.) Definitely incendiary issues raised and examined here.
One interesting aspect of this film was its indication that Brazil’s racial divide rivals that of the US. Which reminded me of another movie I saw within the past year (though I can’t find it at the moment). It was either Brazilian or Portugese and had similar indications. And with the recent allegations raised by Meghan and Harry against the British royal family, my assumption that the US has the worst racial problems is being challenged.
[The other movie was Función Velorio (Wake Show), and was Peruvian.]
