This script was trying to be clever, starting with one character telling a bartender a story, but a character in that story started telling someone else a story, and so on… And the stories aren’t always told in order. And everything got very convoluted.
And, I say, a little dull. Despite all the stories being told through flashbacks, there was still a lot of exposition to make sure we knew some important details.
In the end, they tried to throw in a surprise twist. But I’d been bored for so long I just couldn’t appreciate it. In retrospect, this may have been better if they’d distilled it down to the bare essentials and just made a short film.
(December 2020 was very busy for me so I didn’t take the time to write my reviews then. This one was written a few months later.)
