I don’t usually link to a clip for the movies I’m reviewing, but this one pretty much captures the tone of this film. Plus, it raises so many questions about things that all make sense when you see the whole movie.
Yes, it’s basically a comedy with serious undertones–both sides are played well for a good balance. Also a good mix of characters who are memorable. Definitely worth watching.
In addition, I was fascinated with the soundtrack. Several 1969 pop-jazz arrangements of Christmas songs. Almost like elevator Muzak, but better! (You’ll catch a taste at the end of the clip.) I ended up buying a few.
